Cultural Tourism Charter presented at ICH NGO Forum dialogue

ICTC President Dr. Ivan Henares presented the Cultural Tourism Charter at ICH Tourism Dialogue #5 on the ICOMOS Cultural Heritage Tourism Charter organized by the ICH NGO Forum on September 2, 2025. As a very aspirational cultural tourism charter, it addresses the urgent need for transformative change in the face of climate crisis and global volatility. The Charter Principles provide guidance on how heritage and tourism professionals can lead this shift by aligning practice with sustainability, equity, and planetary boundaries. The Charter is a call to connect, collaborate, and make cultural heritage central to a more just and resilient future. Dr. Henares also shared his learning from experience of embedding the Charter in tourism policies of the Philippines.
